Abner the Sage of Silverlake:
  • History to be added
  • From Master Sargent Solo of the Valitnikov local at Silverlake
    • The only real master of the natural sciences I ever knew. A constant strength to the community…a true healer…and a kind man. Always ready to go into the field.” May 20th 1274
 Acamas Anastos The Dren
  • Acamas is the resident Dren of the Wharf District. He arrived mysteriously in July 1896 just after the previous resident Dren mysteriously disappeared. He seems to conduct most of his business from his residence 13 Silver Bass Way, Although he has been known to chat up patrons at the Clearwater and also to be seen walking the piers. His contribution to history is yet un-written.

Albia Quintis The Dren

  • Circa 1890
  • Albia Quintis is the resident Dren in New Forge. Very little is known about her, most people mind their own business when she’s around. She can sometimes be found at the tavern in New Forge going about mysterious Dren business, but most of the time visitors call apon her at her home.

Bluefoot the Silvan

  • Circa 1890
  • Bluefoot a young Silvan medical student pined for adventure and made his way to Silverlake. There he found employment with the GA as a nurse. He was assigned to a doctor at Briar Quarry Village. During his employ he met a Silvan named Starbelt who was wanted for Arson and four counts of attempted murder who was hoping to evade capture and boredom by searching The Briar for the legendary lost Briar Silver Mines. Bluefoot was eager for adventure and joined Starbelt under his employ. One day south of the village the two of them were set upon by Armadins and his new boss was bitten in the throat and killed. Bluefoot managed to escape with his life and return to the village. But his desire for adventure was not satiated. History only knows if he ever ventured out again.

Bobby Crabs

  • 1890
  • Bobby Crabs lives in the Wharf Distict Village, oddly enough next to the house where Dren seem to live. He works at the crabber’s pier on the lake as liaison between the GA workers who catch the crab, and the Fish Mongers who buy them for market. Bobby seems to live a comfortable life, he’s always well dressed and when not at home or negotiating prices for the days catch you can find him at leisure that most people can’t afford.

Cronos the Valitnikov

  • Cronos a living legend amongst the miners of Silverlake in the late 12th century. His large gnarled stature was almost as menacing as his bold willingness to stand up against the blatant injustices forced upon the good people of Silverlake. When the Valitnikovs came to Silverlake he was the first to join their ranks.
  • From Master Sargent Solo of the Valitnikov local at Silverlake:
    • “A leader of miners bigger then life, undaunted by situations and ready to do what he feels he must to break the status quo if things go south. loyal, dependable, and truely a friend to Solo, Daryth and Bobber.” May 23 1274

Dark, The

  • History to be added here
  • Interview of Master Sargent Solo of the Valintikov Local at Silverlake in regards to the The Dark
    • Ah yes…the voice of evil: An entity that is sardonic and totally evil, with out morals, empathy for others, nor any type of decency. It is superlatively cruely beyond any other encounters. Its voice is filled with malificent condescending poison, which attempts to rob all hope and kill not only the physical but the very fabric of all goodness. May 20th 1274
  • Commander Daryth Delfold,
    • “A wretched soul that spreads it’s foul humor through necromancy and dark magic. The Dark has it out for the Lady and her descendants, and the people of Silverlake, and now us Valitnilkovs. This being is responsible for the deaths of multitudes of innocents, not to mention our friends and guildsmen. So basically we are hunting this evil down and putting an end to his advancement, and extermination of his power, and then, (sliding a finger cross his throat) Sorry Charlie, this half elf don’t have no mercy for malicious souls like ol Darky Pants..

Comment’s from Valinikov’s

  • When asked about Dark Acoyltes Commander Solo commented, “Humans who chant w/minimum personality. They apparently speak like they are constantly being controlled or suppressed by there dark master.” May 20th 1274
  • Commander Daryth Delfold, “Easy to kill one on one, pain in the *** when there is a few of them. They group together and use some kind of communal magic by way of chanting, it takes a moment or two for them cast their spell, so far in the form of a lighting/fulguration attack. Misguided, and weak minded as far as I can surmise. Their amulets are good for trade value, besides that they are pretty much minimalists, don’t expect much loot from them.” June 4th 1274

Comment’s from Valinikov’s

Daryth Delfold on his parties encounter with Drow in the West Silverlake Mines,”Dark, musty caves devoid of sunshine, not this half elf’s idea of a vacation spot, that’s for sure. But those dow huntresses…aye, I can’t lie, my lust arose in a fashion I never felt. My only thought was capturing one and professing my undying love… (chuckles a laugh). An, but if only they weren’t intent on our demise. Besides that, artifact hunting was somewhat successful, although somewhat tedious.” June 4th 1274

Social observations

Comment’s from Valinikov’s

  • When asked about Kobalds Commander Solo commented, “Sentient rodents with a basic “learned” minimal language that is still the handmaiden to their animal instinct. They are some what like rat moles, colonial in nature, hideous in habit and looks, with a high pitched semi-speech punctuated by many rattish snarls, squeaks, and tiny belches..” May 20th 1274
  • From Commander Daryth Delforld, “Nasty little buggers, easy to kill though. Once we become more proficient with out weapons and were better equipped they were more of a laugh than a fight. Still, a swarm of them can be potentially dangerous. They have basic loot, their ears sell for gold in Silverlake though.” June 4th 1274

Lady, The

Lasher

Hulking quadruped. First found in The Maldorvald. It has the general look of a large hairless boar. Weighing in at 2-3 times more then a Malkin (the largest humanoid  race in The West). It’s distinguishing features include large protruding tusks and a razor sharp tongue that it can launch like a frogs tongue.

Game Data

The loot dropped from this creature is it’s tusks which are sold as trophies , and it’s tongue which is used in the sciences. If the stomach is searched it could have 0-3 loot rolls. But opening the stomach has a 1 in 20 chance to infect the character with a disease.

Lord of Silverlake, The

  • History to be added here
  • Interview with Commander Daryth Delfold of the Valitnikov local at Silverlake in regards to Lord Silverlake.
    • An oaf, a bumbling baboon who was corrupt and contemptuous. He was a dishonest from the start and if I met him in a dark alley only one of us would walk out, me. He manipulated events to his profit, he used the deeds of the Valitnikovs to make himself look better, while discrediting our guild at the same time. I forgot what happened to him, that’s how little I gave a **** about him, but I hope he died and suffered. June 4th 1274

Rusty Hook circa 1200s

  • Founded by famous Silverlake citizen Von, The Rusty Hook was for the longest time the only Tavern in Silverlake and the first place visitors to the area stopped, or the last place when they left.

Rusty Hook Village circa late 1800s

  • The Rusty Hook was almost lost despite the legendary tales and songs that kept it’s memory alive. It’s ruins however were found by an industrious OGT clerk who discovered an old map of Silverlake at the keep during renovations. He later sold the map to the Wooly Paw Confectionary Company who rebuilt the historic Tavern to serve both travelers and tourists visiting Silverlake. Wooly Paw not being an company that lets opportunity slip through it’s fingers added on to the original plans by building a brewery that brewed the old Silverlake Ale. The Ale was renamed “Rusty Hook Ale” and soon after they acquired the rights to Silverlake Gin and built the Silverlake gin Distillery. The Rusty Hook area eventually grew into a village.
  • Points of interest include
    • Boat docks and a wagon house operated by The Old Guard Trust, as well as one of their massive warehouses.
    • The Rusty Hook Tavern itself surrounded by an opulent Garden known as Von’s garden.
    • The Rusty Hook Brewery and the Silverlake Gin Distillery both owned by the Wooly Paw Confectionary Company.
    • The WPC Resort a Rusty Hook Village. A fine place for some of The West’s wealthy to spend a holiday.
    • WPC’s Silverlake Headquarters is the Village.
    • And OGT designed aqueducts made from decadent Briar Quarry Marble feed water to the Village fountains where workers live in lovely homes.

Starbelt The Silvan

  • circa 1896
  • Born in the 1840 Starbelt was a young man of 56 in 1896 and made his way to Silverlake to join The Maldorvald Lodge of exotic hunters. Instead he met a Sunwalker and was waylaid on his first assignment. They took a job with the GA to set a house on fire. No one was supposed to get hurt. However the home owner’s wife was home as well as guards and they were caught in the act. The Sunwalker was shot dead at the scene but Starbelt was able to escape. He was however wanted for arson and 4 counts of attempted murder. The GA was grateful for his assistance and helped him flee east to Briar Quarry Village. There he decided to keep his head down and hunt for the old Brair Silver mines of legend secluded in The Briar.  He hired a young doctor’s assistant named Bluefoot to accompany him. On the first day out while scouring the mountains, The two Silvans were ambushed by three Armadins. Starbelt was bitten fatally in the neck. Bluefoot barely escaped with his life but made it back to Brair Quarry Village to tell his tale. Starbelt had only been in Silverlake for two weeks.

Tuskmen
  • Kingdom Animal
  • Class Mammal
  • Family humanoid
  • Species Dente Hominis (Tuskmen)
Physical Description:

Tuskmen range in height from 7 to 8 feet weighing 300 to 400 pounds. They generally resemble your average humanoid in with the notable exceptions of: Having an excessively muscular or bulky build. Having grayish skin similar in texture to that of on elephant. Two large curved tusks protrude perpendicularly from their lower jaws averaging about 1 foot in length. They have ear holes but no ear lobes. They have four eyes, two placed like most other humanoids then another set, smaller above the first and more closely placed together.

Social observations

Tuskmen appear to have a social structure that is at least nomadic. They can make their own clothes, armor, and weapons. In the few encounters that have been reported Tuskmen are said to begin ranged attacks with spears much heaver then those used by humans, after which they approach with finely crafted scimitars of their own forging. Almost nothing else is known of this species. It’s origin is mystery as is it’s native geography.

Comments from Valitnikov’s
  • Once when Asked about Tuskmen Commander Solo said of them,Giant things more monster then human. They have deep voices with limited personal expression, reflecting shallow cultural empathy for any other sentient races. Their verbal communicative mannerisms are quite scarey; especially when one realizes that they eat all that they fight with. (and that they fight very, very well).” May 20th 1274
  • From Commander Daryth Delfold, “Bad. Eaters of human flesh. Good with spears. They carry heavy oversized scimitars for close range combat. Large by human standards, their spears will go through shields and bodies. Funny story, one actually impaled me and staked my *** to the ground in one fell swoop. They carry better loot than most creatures we have encountered.” June 4th 1274
Game Data

It is not uncommon for a Tuskmen to have 1-4 items of value that they themselves have looted off victims. Their scimitars are not useable as weapons as they are too large for most races to wield they are however sought after trophies and have value. Their tusk also have good value at market. Their second smaller set of eyes are thought to have medicinal value and fetch a fair price at market.

Von of the Rusty Hook

  • Master Sargent Solo on Von,
    • “Inn keeper and tavern master of the Rusty Hook who is more of an unassuming civic leader then a businessman though in his business he is very good. He is also the behind the scene go to guy for the community of Silverlake. If you got a problem he has an answer. And, he has a heart of gold, not to mention some grand ale.” May 21st 1274
  • Commander Daryth Delfold,
    • “A man who knows how to get things. Von is an inconspicuous good guy who runs the Rusty Hook at Silverlake. Another friend of the guild. Never seen him in a fight, but something tells me he would hold his own.” June 4th 1274
